It doesn’t sound like a big difference, but the
difference is huge.*
Having faith in a rumour called Christ will not get you where you need to go. There is nothing wrong with faith. Faith is necessary sometimes, even blind faith.
Some times you have to have faith in your wife or your husband.
But what is needed is a knowing experience.
Much of the knowledge of the early Christians came from the ESSENE COMMUNITY. The
Essenes were practical people. They were healers.
They knew about herbs and roots and the sacred plants left by the Lord in special places.
They were not too keen on the hierarchical society
that existed in Jerusalem in those days. They made fun of the high priests, who, the Essenes were very aware, had no practical knowledge of Revelation.
The Essenes had a tendency to live outside of the City… in places like Jericho. They lived in communities at the edge of the desert.
“WHY DO YOU COME OUT IN THE DESERT TO SPEAK TO ME, ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A MAN IN SILKS AND
They didn’t like the rulers and the professional priests – they considered such men hypocrites.
People who spoke without knowledge.
If we’re looking for a Knowing Experience, and we are… then totally different steps become necessary. Sitting in church isn’t going to do the trick.
And basically, we all know this. At least anybody who has come so far as to be reading me… you know this.
We follow the path as laid out in the Gospel of Thomas.
We also read the Gospel of Truth, and the Gospel of Philip. Admittedly, a lot of these writings appear unclear. This is because many of these writings are not meant to explain anything.
Explanations are over-rated. Explanations appeal to the intellect. Explanations will take you no where.
WHAT WE NEED ARE WORDS THAT RING LIKE A BELL IN THE CORE OF YOUR SOUL.
BEFORE ABRAHAM WAS, I AM.
These are the kind of words we need. The aim
is not to find an explanation, but to know.

I had to laugh. I thought of the words of a
Johnny Rock song.
“There’s nowhere to go
But where you are.
You can take a plane, you can take a car
And you might go far,
But there’s nowhere to go but where you are.”
