APHORISMS OF THE HALF-MAD AND THE DISTURBINGLY SANE.

If a man has no sense of humour, he is mad;
and can never aspire to the dignity of being
called a great man, or even a good man.

Why is it I find horror movies funnier
than comedies? Is this a cause for concern?
Well, I’m not concerned.

                               *

Just because I like to whine a bit and be
taken care of by an attractive woman –
this does not make me weak. In fact,
just the opposite.

Manipulation is the way of the world,
and I am no innocent in the procedure.

                                 *
Fame?
People stare at you in restaurants.
Power?
You lose it.
Cash?
Cash is more interesting.

                               *
I sat down on a cement block at the corner of
Ferguson and McIntyre Streets in this smallish
Northern City between two lakes.
This is my new sport – sitting on corners
and absorbing the atmosphere. Being a hermit
wasn’t working out too well.
I was breathing the air deeply and getting centered
on the spot.
Two northern women passed me on the
sidewalk. They were laughing about something.
One woman said to the other:

” I PAY ALL THE BILLS, AND HE BEATS ME!”

This is what they were laughing at…

I find this quite remarkable.

What strength! What character! What a sense
of humour!
